MPhil full outline is Master of Philosophy.  MPhil is 2 years research based post graduate degree course offered to candidates who wish to practice a career in research or teaching.

The MPhil Degree has been seen as a foundation course for the PhD programs in India for candidates who don’t have enough experience in field work after the achievement of their PG level courses.

Separately from being the bridge course between master and PhD, MPhil Course has been used by the candidates as preventative preparation for the civil service examination.
